Entrance and admission
Entrance requirements
- EHEA curricula: applicants must hold an official bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a university master's degree or equivalent, together comprising a total of at least 300 ECTS credits.
- Pre-EHEA curricula: they must hold an official undergraduate degree that corresponds to Level 3 in the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES) according to the procedure established in Royal Decree 967/2014.
- Foreign degrees: they must hold a degree awarded under a foreign education system, for which homologation is not required but which the University must verify that it certifies a level of training equivalent to an official Spanish master's degree and that it qualifies the holder for admission to doctoral studies in the country where it was issued.
- Entrance qualifications for the doctoral degree in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering: they must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Materials or Chemical Engineering or similar) and a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering or similar. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in another discipline and applicants with a degree in Physics and/or Chemistry will be required to take bridging courses. The number of credits will depend on the intensity of the applicant’s specialisation in Materials Science and Engineering.

Applications for admission
You must register using the online pre-enrolment app and provide the information requested. The following documents must be uploaded:
- Currículum vitae
- Academic transcripts for entrance qualifications (bachelor's and master's degrees or equivalent)
- Degree certificates or provisional degree certificates
- Proof of English level (if you have it)
- Proof of funding (if you have it)
- Letter of motivation and interest
- Specific admission form for the programme:
Advanced Materials Science and Engineering (Word file). A message of acceptance from your thesis supervisor must also be submitted
Chemical Process Engineering (Word file). You must indicate your order of preference for research groups.
Polymers and Biopolymers (Word file). You must indicate your order of preference for research groups.
Assessment and selection process
Application pathway:
IN PREPARATION → PENDING → VALIDATED (YES/NO) → ADMITTED / NOT ADMITTED → ACCEPTED BY STUDENT→ ENTERED INTO ENROLMENT SYSTEM / APPLICATION REJECTED
- If you apply to more than one programme, you must indicate your order of preference before the status of your application is “ADMITTED.
- Applications will only be validated when all of the required documents have been submitted.
Validated documents are sent to the academic committee for the relevant programme for assessment. The academic committee for the doctoral programme may require that students pass specific bridging courses.
