Descripció:Heart is formed from a straight tubular geometry, and a subsequent looping which is robustly oriented in a given chirality. This looping is associated to a growth process of viscoelastic tissue and boundary conditions on the tube. This project aims at writing the PDEs corresponding to the non-isotropic growth, and solving numerically the asymmetric buckling process. The stability and bifurcation of the looping process will be investigated from the evolution of the growth pattern. The different orientations obtained and malformations will be numerically simulated with finite elements techniques, and compared with microscopy images.
Objectius:-Write elasticity equations including growth tensor, and deduce associated weak form. -Discretise with finite elements the tubular geometry and apply boundary conditions and non-isotropic growth process. -Simulate heart looping and compare with experimental images.
