This project focuses on building a reproducible computational tool that implements classical and advanced micromechanical models (Rule of Mixtures, Halpin–Tsai, Mori–Tanaka) to estimate the elastic constants of unidirectional CFRP composites. The framework will allow parametric studies on fiber volume fraction and constituent properties, and its results will be quantitatively validated against experimental datasets from Q1 journal publications. The outcome will be a research-grade numerical tool and a thesis structured as a scientific paper, forming the foundational block for future multi-scale composite optimization research.

Objectius:

The objective of this thesis is to develop a fully parametric micromechanical modeling framework in Python capable of predicting the effective orthotropic elastic properties of unidirectional Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP), and to rigorously validate its predictive accuracy against high-quality experimental data reported in peer-reviewed literature.
